– Okay, This Really Puts The Microsoft-Apple War In Perspective (via tbridge)
This doesn’t really tell us much except about the herd mentality of investors. Henry Blodget is an interesting writer, but I still believe any analysis of his to be suspect. Also, market cap merely tells us that a...

On Ginger Ale
tbridge: What brand of Ginger Ale do you prefer?
fedward: For mass-market stuff, Schweppes is the best, and Canada Dry is acceptable. Schweppes, ironically, has less sugar than Canada Dry (this seems to be the number one indicator of whether I will like the product -- the drier the better). Seagrams is just awful. Too much sugar, not enough ginger.
fedward: As for specialty products, I tend to like all of the dry (as opposed to golden) ones. Vernor's and other golden ginger ale is tasty, but it's not what I reach for when I reach for a ginger ale.

[snip]
Yeah. Facebook means well, but it’s fucking up badly right now. Their management structure is so thoroughly tainted with stupidity and greed that you really should consider finding another way to stay in touch. Leave now. Seriously.
I’m not even sure they mean well, exactly. What they mean to do is make themselves famous and make a...

How Not To Sell Me Something Expensive
This list brought to you by the optical industry:
Be opaque. Nothing makes me uncomfortable about spending hundreds of dollars like not having any idea what I’m actually getting for my money.
Treat “specialty” as “luxury.” Everybody who needs personal service for medical reasons also needs to pay a couple hundred bucks extra just for status, right? Who wants to...
